Intercultural competences and IT skills - a key to success on the labour market

We are 6 schools from Germany, Romania, Spain, Turkey, Hungary and
Bulgaria, working on a project called Intercultural competences and IT
skills - a key to success on today´s labour market. We setthe assignment two months previously -
to interview companies and/or to search the web for information how
employees are prepared for working or travelling abroad on business, and
to research the business etiquette of our countries. The students presented the information they have gleaned in PowerPoint
presentations or role plays and together worked out a brochure with
useful hints for managers and employees doing business in another
country.


When we met,  we divided the 30 students
in 5 groups (each comprising different nationalities), wrote the tasks
on the board, send them the URLs they can use and gave them 2 hours to
come up with the rules, neatly organized under headings.Also, they
filled in a table with information about each country (time zone,
currency, exchange rate, visa requirements, taxes, communication
features,etc), for which they had to search the net, too. Then the five
leaders got together and compiled one final draft out of the five.
