The Revolutionary War: Gaining Independence

Task

Your first task is to find information regarding both sides of the Revolution, American and British. After you have searched the websites, links, and other sources, your first mission is to create a timeline of events that lead up to the Revolution. You teacher will put you into small groups of two to four. Each member of the group will use the web to find information on the Revolutionary war. Ask yourself questions about how these events or people may have affected the start of the war or even the outcome of the war. Then, as a team, create a visual timeline that shows the American Revolution. You can use technology (like Power Point or Word) or you can draw it. The timeline will be a pass/fail grade based on the completion and presentation to the class.

Your second mission will be completed in the form of a short paper telling the teacher if you would have supported the British or the Americans. Would you have stayed loyal to Britain? Would you have chosen to fight for America? Explain why you have decided to support either side and give some examples. A rubric for the paper can be found on the evaluation tab on the left side of the page.
