"The Giving Tree" and Economy

Form groups of three or four, your teacher may assign the groups for you. You will be heading to a website to become familiar with a few vocabulary words in order to better understand economics!

During the Activity!
You and your group will be analyzing the story "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein.  Within the activity, the group will be relating the story "The Giving Tree," by Shel Silverstein to economic terms in everyday life.  Terms to know:  SCARCITY;  GOODS;  SERVICES;  PRODUCER; CONSUMER; OPPORTUNITY COST. 

The Completed Work!
Once your group has made your way through the WebQuest, your group will need to develop a service or good that consumers will want and/or need.  You and your group members must design a TV commercial or Newspaper AD or another type of advertisment to promote your service or good.
