Captain of the Ship

Day 1- Ship is leaving the port
Today, your about to set sail for America. Your crew and passengers are eager to go! The whole ship is in your hands now for the very first time. Today, your job is to make it out of the harbor smoothly and get to know your crew. After spending time with your crew members, there are eager first class passengers waiting to talk with you about the ship. Your job is to read about your biography as the ship captain and the information about the unsinkable ship and how you would explain to the passengers how marvelous it is.  You will find 6 interesting facts about your history as a captain or about the ship you would like to reflect on. As your day comes to an end you will reflect about how you think the first day was and what you believe is going to happen on the rest of your journey.

Day 4- Day of Sinking
Today, starts off as a beautiful day things have been smooth sailing for the past three days. You have made a name for yourself as a great captain around the ship especially with the first class passengers. There are many who admire you for sailing such a large ship and claiming it to be truly unsinkable. On April 14-15, 1912 around midnight there is a sudden bang and vibrating coming from your cabin. The deckhand runs to your room to inform you that your ship just hit an iceberg. Trying not to panic because you believe the ship in unsinkable you start to tell the crew what to do. You find yourself at a loss because there are not enough life boats. Write how you feel in this exact moment as the ship is sinking. View this clip from the movie Titanic about your final moment as you decide you want to go down with the ship.

Deckhand/ Waiter
    Day 1- Arrival on ship

Today is the day you start work on the ship to America. You are busy getting everything ready for people to arrive. You are either sweeping the deck or setting tables somewhere. What made you decide to work aboard the titanic instead of buying a ticket. Research stories on deckhands and crew members on why they chose to set sail on this trip. If you are working in the first class restaurants think about how the people act toward you or if you are working down below to keep the ship running, what is it like. Write about how you enjoy the first day based on stories you find online.

Day 4- Sinking of the ship
Today, you wake up and go about your job as usual nothing new in your duties. Little before midnight on April 14, 1918, you see the chandlers start shaking in the dining room. Some first class lady starts to worry and asks you to find out what is going on. As you approach the outdoor deck you see the ship has just hit an iceberg. You start to realize the ship is going to possibly sink at this point. What do you go back to tell the lady who is worried? Or do you decide to start finding a lifeboat? What is are you emotions at this exact moment?

First Class passenger

Day 1- Arrival
You arrive in your car to the loading deck and board the ship immediatly. You are escorted to your room. The room is wonderful and huge, you have brought many things with you on your journey. Research to find some of the articles first class passengers would bring on the trip. Then look up stories about first class passengers such a Molly Brown "the Unsinkable Molly" to explain how life was like on the ship as a first class passenger. Write about how the staff treats the first class passengers and your thoughts on sailing on such a great ship.

Day 4- Sinking of ship
You are sitting in the library when you notice a slight vibration in the chair and in your water glass. At first you do not think twice about it, until the crew members start to run in and tell you to put on your life jacket and head to the deck. You are stubborn about it as you think it is just a drill until they tell you they hit an iceberg. You start to panic as you make your way to your room to find your family and belongs. As you head to the deck you realize they are loading women and children only and first class passengers. You realize their is not going to be enough lifeboats but you can get one over third class passengers. Do you decide to hop in a boat right away or do you let more women and children from second and third class get on? What is going through your head at the moment? Find quotes from first class passenger who survived about what is was like during the sinking of the ship.

Second/ Third class

Day 1- Arrival
You are excited that you have received a ticket to set sail on the ship to America. Describe in your journal how you received your ticket for the ship. You are going to be assigned a room depending what class you are in. The rooms are not so bad on the second class compared the the third class. As you wave goodbye for the voyage reflect on how you think your journey will be on this ship as a second or third class passenger and what your are looking forward to in America. Research what some second and third class passengers thought about the ship Titanic.

Day 4- Sinking
It is bedtime of a normal day out on the sea, when right before midnight on April 14 you feel a huge vibration within your cabin. Things start to fall over, you open your door to figure out what happened when you feel ice cold water at your feet. You rush to find someone who can tell you what is going on. No one is giving you answers besides put on a life-vest. You over hear a fellow passenger say "We have hit an iceberg, and the ship is going to sink." As you rush to the top deck you are stopped by crew workers who inform you that only first class and some second class passengers allowed. You panic at this point as you feel as if your are going to go down with the boat. Do you try to find a way to the top of the boat or do you just head back to your room and wait for help? What thoughts are going through your head as you realize you might die on this ship.
