1. Your teacher will divide the class into pairs or groups. With your group or partner, learn the following vocabulary words. Use the link in the Resources section of this page to go to Dictionary.com to find definitions and hear the pronunciations of the words.

2. Next, you and your partner or group will use the AmarilloQuest vocabulary flash cards in the Resources section below to review the words. Then play a game using the vocabulary words. Be sure to turn on the sound for the flash cards by clicking on the speaker icon on the first card.

3. Practice saying the vocabulary words with your partner or group and then with your teacher and the rest of the class. You will be graded on your participation.

4. Your teacher will give each student a quiz over the vocabulary words.

5. With your group, answer the questionnaire, found in the Resources section of this page, about your plans with your friends and what you need to do to prepare. Each person in the group will need to write the answers on his or her own paper. You will need the answers for your last task.

6. Finally, on your own, use the information you have learned in this lesson and the questionnaire you answered with your partner or group to write two paragraphs about your plans. The first paragraph will be about what you need to do to prepare for your friends' visit. The second paragraph will be about what you will do to entertain your friends while they are in town.
