Process
Step 1: Find the meaning of an IDIOM
An idiom helps to make our speech more colorful and expressive. They spice up conversation and add beauty to the language. Before you start working on Posters, Flayers and Brochure. To get more familiar with their meaning visit the following links to help you understand what an idiom is.
Webster's Definition of "Idioms"
The difference of cultural connotation of words can lead to the failure of communication. A typical example is the different understandings to 'west wind'. To the native speaker of English, it is warm, lively and spirited with the image of tender heart. However in Chinese, it stands for coldness and weariness. Please visit the links below to read some examples of idioms misunderstandings.
Step 2 :LET'S ROLL NOW
Now, in order to be able to create the Idioms Posters, Flyers and Brochure you will be divided into four groups. Each group will have four students and each of them will be assigned to do different tasks within the group.
GROUP 1
Student 1: Leader of the group will assign the tasks to the rest of the group and ask them to report promptly on the deadline.
Student 2: Will find 25 native idioms.
Student 3: Will find 25 English idioms.
Student 4: Will draw the poster illustrating the chosen idioms.
As we know, English is not the only language that uses idioms. Are there any idioms in your native language? Of course, there are!! All languages have word phrases that have a figurative meaning instead of a literal meaning. The following links include idioms from various languages. Explore some idioms in your native language and English as well and write down twenty-five idioms for both languages which you will need for the posters.

Finally, each group leader will present the project proposal to British Council. Please visit the links with instructions on how to create Brochures.
Step 3: Wrap-up
Presenting Idioms to British Council
Each group leader will present their idiom Posters, Flyers and Brochure by displaying them in front of the British Council commission. Groups should first just show them to the commission and present their work by giving description and explicate the idiom and why they chose to illustrate it as they did.

Turn in your Posters, Flyers and Brochures to your teacher for feedback and to set up a date when you will do the presentation.
