Part 1: Safe Internet Searching

With the class, or on your own, watch the Thinkfinity video about recognizing facts v. opinions in Internet researching.  Then browse the slides of the Powerpoint on safe and effective Internet searching.  These will give you the start you need to have safe and effective researching!

Part 2: Researching the History

1. Decide where you are going to keep your notes for your final product (a notebook, word document, etc.)

2. Go to the "Candy Links" page to find websites about the history of your candy.  Remember to write down the citation information from each site you use.  This will be necessary for your bibliography later.

3. When your research is complete, meaning you have a complete history of your candy's life, begin to make your final product.  Remember you can write a short essay about your candy's history, create a detailed timeline using the online timeline creator, make a pamphlet using Microsoft Word or pen and paper, or come up with a creative idea of your own!

4. Create a bibliography of the sources you used to find your information and create your final product.

** Keep in mind, you have only one class period to complete your research AND create your product. **
