Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Day 1- Review (Individual Work)- 1 hour


1.  Watch video about recycling.  Take notes on  the "write about it" sheet.  You can print this sheet. These notes will be turned in to teacher.

2.  Take the online quiz about the video.  At the end of quiz, print off your score to turn in to your teacher.

3.  Review the "word wall".  You can use these definitions later when you create your commercial!

4.  Review resources listed below.  You can use the information in your commercial.


Day 2- Write your commercial! (Partner Work)- 1 hour

1.  I will assign you a partner.

2.  You and your partner will write about a ONE MINUTE commercial to tell others why they should recycle.

• Each partner should participate in the commercial so be sure you each have lines to say!

• Remember to use facts from your review session.  You can also use the resources below. 

3.  Write your script on the script form in the resource section below.  You may print out this form.


Day 3- Video tape your commercial (Partner Work)- 1 hr
1.  Practice your commercial for 30 minutes.  You may want to write cue cards on index cards to help you remember your lines! 

2.  Each team's commercial  will be recorded by the TV producer (your teacher!)

3.  During filming time, you will work INDIVIDUALLY on the following website while the other groups are filming.  Play the dumpster game and complete other activities you find fun!  You will work on this for about 30 minutes.

Day 4- Preview Day- 1 hour

1.  Our class will watch all of the commercials

2.  You will fill out self-evaluations- Use the self-evaluation rubric located in the resource section below.
