Step 1: What is Probability??? Go to the provided You Tube link (Resource One at the bottom of the page) and watch the small clip. Take notes on the journal document you have already printed. The document link is provided on the Introduction page. Take extremely detailed notes as you will be using them to create your final project in Step 5.

Step 2: Chevalier de Mere... who was he??? How does his life story fit into the Theory of Probability? You can use Resource # 6 below to learn a little bit about this man. Record your information in your journal.

Step 3: Two of the most important men that contributed to the Theory of Probability were Blaise Pascal and Pierre de Fermat. Who were these men and what were their contributions?  What can you learn from them? Use Resources #2, #3, #4, #5 to learn about them and record the information in your journal. There was a famous correspondence that occurred between the two. Why was it so important? The correspondence also noted a specific problem. What was this problem about and what was it called (it is still referred as this today)?

Step 4: I want you to create a basic timeline based on what you have learned in the previous steps. Include at least ten different dates/important events on the timeline. Use Resouce #7   to help you out but make sure you use facts/events that you thought were important and that pertain to information you found out in the previous steps.

Step 5: Now that you have gained a basic understanding of the Theory of Probability, I want you to create a Prezi presentation using the information about from Steps 1-4. Resource #8 will take you to the Prezi site. You will have to sign up for a free account in order to make the presentation.  It needs to be well informing. Imagine a person who knows nothing about probability watching it. You want them to know what Probability is, who were the main influences on it, and how it started.  Be creative and have fun!  Use pictures, quotes, or whatever else is necessary to make the presentation interestng! I look forward to viewing them!
