Process

Step 1:  Choose Your Role -   Your group must decide what role each individual will play.  One person is responsible for researching convergant plate boundaries, another divergant plate boundaries, and finally transform plate boundaries.  Remember each person is repsonsible for their role.  You will all come together later to create your powerpoint presentation.

Step 2: YouTube Video - Watch the attached video on plate boundaries as an introduction to what you will be researching.  Find an additional educational video to include in your powerpoint.  Use United Streaming as your video resource.  You will need to see your teacher in order to log in.

Step 3:  Research - Now you need to gather as much information as possible.  Remember we want the alien to learn so we can have his resources.  Use the attached research guide to write down your information.  You do not need to write in complete sentences.  Research your type of plate movement only.  Your group members will take care of the others.

Step 4: Powerpoint - With your group members, create a powerpoint presentation to be presented to the alien.  Make sure you get your information onto the slides first and then worry about pictures, designs, and transitions.  Use your research pages as a guide.  The slide layout and the information on each is up to you.  Below are your powerpoint guidelines.

Tip:  Plan your slides before you create them.  This will ensure you meet the requirements and the slides don't all look the same. :)  Also, have fun!!!!

Powerpoint Guidelines:

1.  Must be at least 15 slides long

2.  Each slide must have a title (This will help organize your information)

3.  Use a font that everyone can read from a distance

4.  Include pictures

5.  Include at least 2 slides on what Earth would be like if plate boundaries did not exist

6.  Include a reference page (state the source of your information and graphics)

Internet Resources - Here are a few internet resources to get your started.  You are responsible for finding and using at least 10 online resources to find information.  See the attached set of guidelines for finding reliable websites.
