South Carolina is a state located in the south west region of the United States. The state flag flies above the state house in the capital city of Columbia.

South Carolina has 6 distinctive regions. The Mountain or Blue Ridge region is located in the upper left hand corner of the state. This region makes up about 2% of the land. The Piedmont Regions coves about 30% of the state. The Sandhills are located in the center of the state. They take up about 8% of the land. The Coastal Plain is the largest region and takes up about 55%. The Coat takes up the remaining 5% of the state. You also have the Atlantic Ocean to the immediate right of the state
