What is culture?
As we learn the culture and language of French, we begin to wonder about the country of France and the people that live there. Where is this country and what is it like? What can you see and do there? What is the weather like? What type of money do they use in Paris? Think about these things as you explore the city!

Day 1 - Cultural Landmarks
You will be given a picture of an important landmark in Paris! Find pictures of this place and create a slide. Use Pixie II to create an interesting slide full of colors. Write your answers in a creative font. You may also add sounds!

When was it built?
Who lived there? OR Who built the landmark?
Where is it located?
Why is this place important?
Are there any interesting facts that you found about the place while exploring?

Day 2 - Impressionism
Yesterday we learned all about the city of Paris and its landmarks. But what else is culture? In Paris, art is very important to the culture. Famous artist such as Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Mary Cassatt, Eduard Manet were all famous artists called "The Impressionists". There were many other famous artists that worked in Paris. They all loved to paint and visit a place called Montmartre.
You have looked at Impressionist art and have chosen your favorite painting by one of the artists. Now on your journey you will find out a little more about the painting and create a power point slide about the painting and the artist.
