How To Complete The Task


  1. Your teacher will assign your partner(s).  She will also assign you a vegetable seed to learn about.

  2. You and your partner will decide what sections each of you will investigate.  Please print out copies of the Seed Investigation Record Sheet, one for each of you.  Cross out the sections that you will NOT be working on.  You will write an opinion piece at the end.

  3. Use the internet links below to find the information that  you will need.  As  you find information, fill out your Seed Investigation Record Sheet.

  4. Write about your opinion of the vegetable.  You may choose to like or dislike the vegetable, but you need to explain why. This is your opinion. Each member of the group will have their own opinion writing that will get attached to your poster.

  5. Work with your group to create a poster that shares your opinion piece and the information you learned:  

  • parts of a seed

  • a picture of your plant with the parts of the plant labeled

  • what the seed/plant needs to survive

6.  Display your poster at the Grantham Garden Club Plant/Seed Sale.
