Process

Get out your magnifying glass and put your thinking caps on!

Task 1:

          1. Watch the video below about long vowels. You can pause it as often as you'd like. Try to read along with the letters and words they put on the screen. Say the name of each picture they show.

          2. Watch the video below about short vowels. Life before, you can pause it as often as you'd like. Replay if necessary. Read along with the letters and words they put on the screen. Also, repeat the sounds they say.

Task 2:

1. Get 5 pages of construction paper. Fold them in half (hamburger style) and staple the edge to bound your book. Also, get crayons, markers, colored pencils, and whatever else you will need to create your vowel book.

          2. Create an attractive cover page for your vowel book. Include a title and your name.

          3. You should have two pages for each vowel. I will give an example of A. On the first page, write "long a" and  list 3 examples of words with the long a sound. You can draw small pictures to go with each sound if you'd like.

         4. The second page (right beside that one) will be for the short a sound. Do the same as you did with the long a sound.

          5. You should have a page for each of these sounds: long a, short a, long e, short e, long i, short i, long o, short o, long u, short u and the very last page you can do long y, like in "dry."

          6. You can rewatch the videos as many times as you need to.
