Step 1 Researching H2S Gas

Student A 

You are a petrochemical engineer. Your job is to learn about H2S gas. Watch this video to learn more about H2S. Be sure to take notes as you watch. Write down any unfamiliar words you see.  It may also be helpful to answer the quiz questions in the resources section below after you watch.

Student B      

You are a safety engineer. Your job is to learn about H2S gas safety. Watch this video to learn more about safety precautions when dealing with H2S. Be sure to take notes as you watch. It is as a good idea to write down any new words you see or hear. Make sure you recognize the 5 main areas the video discusses. These key words will help you to remember the 5 important steps.

Step 2 Reporting what you learned

After you have watched your video you must share what you learned with you teammate. Summarize what you learned from your video. Go over your notes with your teammate and explain to him what the video was about.

Step 4 Preparing your video

Use the information you have learned to produce a video for new employees.

Remember in part 1 of your video you need to clearly describe H2S and discuss the hazards of H2S. The petrochemical engineer (student A) should take the lead for this part of the script. It would be a good idea to look back over your notes from the video and the answers to the questions about the video. Write out a brief description of H2S and the dangers it can cause. You will use this later as the script for your video. 

Remember in part 2 of your video you need to offer safety instructions or warnings about working with H2S. The safety engineer (student B) should take the lead for this part. Please include at least 5 main safety warnings. Now write out the safety precautions and advice. You will use this as the script for video later.
 


Step 5 Making your video

Go to the
Xtra Normal site and log in. Choose your background and your character or characters. Then type out the information you collected in step 4. When the script is ready, choose your camera angles and gestures. Be sure to make your video both interesting and informational.
