Comparing Prokaryots and Eukaryots

First start out by looking at the resources near the bottom of the page.  You will use these resources to identify the similarities and differences among these two types of cells and chart them in a Venn Diagram with two overlapping circles.  (If you are unsure how to make a Venn Diagram a link can be found under the resources explaining how to use them and what they look like.)  Be sure to include such things as structures, size, organelles, and anything else that will help you to identify the differences between these two cell types.  Neatness and correct labeling will be important as this diagram will be turned in to be graded at the end of the webquest.

Comparing Plant and Animal Cells
Once again check out the resources at the bottom of the page.  They will give you information that will help you in identifying the differences between plant and animal cells.  Again you will chart these differences in a Venn Diagram with two overlapping circles.  This diagram should be on a separate sheet of paper from your prokaryot and eukaryot diagram.  Neatness and correct labeling will be important as this diagram will also be turned in to be graded at the end of the webquest.

Identification
Now you that you have compared prokaryots with eukaryots and plant and animal cells you are ready to identify the three slides.  Under the resources section there is a word document with pictures of the 3 slides.  These slides are numbered 1-3.  In a few sentences, on a word document, give three or more reasons for your identification for each slide.  Be sure to use proper spelling and grammar as these will be graded.

Across the Country Questions
Now that you have some practice with determining the differences in cell types your help is needed once again.  Using your new found expertise you will have to ask someone across the country questions to first of all determine if their unidentified cell is Prokaryotic or Eukaryotic and then if it is Eukaryotic if it is a plant or an animal cell. Write your questions down, using proper spelling and grammar, and add them to the same word document as your identification explanation. You should write down as few questions as necessary to determine what type of cell it is.
