Our Holiday in United Kingdom

Process

You will be assigned a "family" of four people- a dad, a mum, a sister, and a brother. Decide on a last name for your "family". Pick which role you want to play. Each member has different interests and wants to "visit" different places. Let me introduce you to your family:

Dad- Dad is really interested in the history of the United Kingdom. He is an architect and loves old buildings and interesting architecture. He is a keen photographer and so will want to climb lots of monuments to take photos from the top.

Mum- Mum loves nature. Put her in a garden and she will be happy. She also loves good food and wine. She has an eye for a bargain and enjoys looking round trash & treasure markets.

Sister- Sister has learned all about the United Kingdom and is keen to see the famous monuments. She loves art and wants to see some world famous paintings. She's also hoping to buy herself a new belt in one of the department stores.

Brother- Brother is a bit of a science nerd. He has heard that the City of Science and Industry museum has some great hands-on activities. He'd also like to visit the planetarium. If there's time he wants to have some fun in one of the theme parks.

After you've decided on a role, you need to start your holiday. Each family member should "visit" the places that fit their interests, gather information and "take" pictures (by printing them) of the sites visited.

Someone in the group will also have to find out information about how to travel around the United Kingdom, where you are going to stay (not 5 star, your family is not that wealthy!) and what the local currency is.

Once you have gathered all of the information and "returned" home, you will need to make a holiday journal in the form of "scrapbook/photo album" to share your memories. Use the pictures you took and tell your experiences from the information you gathered. Write the caption of each picture in the form of recount.

BE CREATIVE! Think of how you can organize your information. Your finished work can be on paper or electronic (PowerPoint). It will contain memories of your trip for your "family" to enjoy forever. Make sure the scrapbook is fun, colorful, and creative!
