Discovering the Renaissance
During the Renaissance, music and dance were used as both worship and entertainment. Music became part of every day life and instruments including the violin, harpsichord, and lute were invented. Don't forget to investigate the print materials (fancy name for books!) as well. While you read about these musicians and listen to their works, think about the following:
- Where and when did this musician live?
- How was this music revolutionary?
- What do we still maintain from this musician in our compositions today?
If you are interested in a musician or instrument that you do not see here, please ask Mrs. Cushing. We could not list them all and the library has lots of sources!
