Editorial Cartoons

Introduction

The art of persuasion can actually be art! Using visuals to convince people to act or think a certain way has gone on for centuries. It happens to you every time you look at a print ad, a commercial on television, the logo on an article of clothing, or in the margins of virtually every web page. Even a facial expression can deliver a message that needs no verbal explanation. (Think of the last time your mother,  father, or teacher gave you the you're-in-trouble look!)

You may have heard the saying "A picture paints a thousand words." Specifically, that is what editorial cartoons do; they use images to sell ideas and points of view.
