My Future - My Career

Introduction

How do today's decisions affect my future career?

The purpose of this project is to help you plan your career pathway. During this project, you will have the opportunity to take a tour of your future, decide what profession you might want to choose, and experience how different decisions affect every aspect of your life. You will reflect on why your education is just as important now as it will be eight years from now. You will use writing and research skills to assist you with this project, as well as the 4 C's of 21st Century Learning: Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, & Critical Thinking.

Your Career Exploration event is on  March 1, 2024.  During this day you will have an opportunity to listen to business professionals, educational leaders, and others about what it takes to reach success in your desired career. You can use this information to create a Career Portfolio that will help guide this project and your future decisions. During the last few weeks of your 8th-grade year, you will be presenting to your peers and teachers the decisions you have made about your future.  During this presentation, it is suggested that you dress to impress as if you are interviewing for your future career. This assignment may count as your final exam grade, so be very careful to pay attention to detail.
