Introduction
Today you and your group members will be working together to solve problems using addition and subtraction.
This WebQuest has exciting videos that will help you learn these skills and have fun, all at the same time!
Using your favorite objects or animals, you and your group members will create your very own word problem using addition and subtraction. Now, Now... I know what your thinking... WORD PROBLEMS! It's not going to be one of those long, boring word problems you see on worksheets. You actually get to create it!
With your group members, you will make a fun story using objects or animals of your choice. For this assignment, your group will make one word problem using addition and another word problem using subtraction.
Here are some fun examples:
- Farmer John has 3 sheep and 2 horses on his farm. How many animals does he have all together?
3 (sheep) + 2 (horses) = 5 animals
3 + 2 = 5
- You have a pizza pie that's cut into 8 slices. You eat 2 slices of pizza. How many slices of pizza are left over?
8 - 2 = 6
