BULLY BUSTERS WANTED!!!

Do you have bullies at your school? Have you ever been bullied? Bullying is a problem in many schools. All kinds of bullying is taking place: verbal bullying, emotional bullying, physical bullying, and even cyberbullying.

Bullies, the people who are tormenting other people, need to be stopped.  Some bullies do not realise that their actions are considered to be bullying.  They might think that they are just "joking" or "fooling around," but to a target (a victim), their actions might be causing a great deal of damage.  Kids, like you, should not be afraid to go to school because someone is teasing them or hurting them. 

Bystanders, the people who may witness bullying incidents, need to take a stand for the targets.  Large groups of people who stand up for a target have the ability to stop bullying.  Normally bullies bully to entertain other people and gain popularity.  If no one thinks that it is a "cool" action, then the bully will most likely end the bullying.

So how can we stop bullying?  First, we can start by educating students in your school so that they realise what bullying is.  This is where your job begins.

This webquest will help you to become an expert in all aspects of bullying - the types of bullying, who bullies and why, the consequences of bullying and strategies to use to help deal with bullying situations.

When you have learnt all you can about bullying, you will share this information with the students in your school. You will perform bullying plays and create a brochure giving other students information on how to deal with bullying.
