A New Classroom Friend

Focus:
This WebQuest was designed as a basic webquest, to get children acquainted with the internet and how to accomplish a Webquest.  It gives the students the opportunity to research a hamster, rabbit and a goldfish.  Then as a group decide which animal would make the best class pet.
Objectives/Goals:
I would recommend starting this project after you have introduced basic use of the computer.  Also after a few weeks after school started, this will give the children the chance to establish a routine.

• Students will learn about the care of a hamster, rabbit, and a goldfish.
  
• Students will learn about how much it will cost to buy a house for the animals.
  
• Experimentation with the computer.
  
• Students will create a poster and present it to the class.
  
• Students will collaborate with peers to decide which animal will be the best for the class.

You will need an assistant or a parent helper to help the students complete the quest.  3 Large poster boards, printer.
