Community Helpers!

Step 1:

Step 2:

Teacher

Police Officer

Firefighter

Mail Man

Doctor/Nurse

Answer these questions about each of the helpers.

1. What do they do?

2. Where do you find them? or How do you call them?

Step 3:

Then visit this site: http://teacher.scholastic.com/commclub/

and read more about the helper your group was assigned.

Step 4:

Make a poster about your helper giving atleast 6 facts about what they do.

Step 5:

In your group assign parts.  One person will be the helper and the other will be the interviewer.

Prepare your 6 facts into interview characters.

Your group will have to presen the interview to the class.  The helper should either dress up like the helper or bring in a picture of the helper.
