Helpers in Our Community

In this lesson, students will be learning about community helpers. They will look at several different community helpers individually, and discuss their jobs and how they are helpful. Students will decide which community helper they think is the most important and why. Finally, the students will create a presentation on Powerpoint which shows their favorite community helpers.

What is a community helper?

 A community helpers is anyone in the community who helps others by providing a service of some kind. The easy ones to think of are police officers, fire fighters, and doctors. There are many, many more. How many can you think of?
