Research Process: (individual) The student did not write down any notes while visiting sites. The teacher often observed that the student was off task, not working on the projects The student has some notes about their topic, but still has trouble recalling the most important information. The teacher observed the student on task most of the time, but need to redirect him/her occationally. The student has clear notes thier information, that allow him/her to recall the most important concepts and ideas from the information. The teacher rarely had to redirect the student to get back on task. The students notes are extremely clear and he/she shows almost complete understandingof his/her topic. The student was always on task and focused. %20
Historical Fiction Story-Requirements to be historical fiction- Include: Historical Facts and Work Cited Page 0-2 Historical facts included, or facts were inaccurate. Or Facts are simply written not a part of the story. No Work Cited page is present. 3-5 Historical facts, with a few inaccuracies, some of the facts are just stated instead of worked into the story. Websites are listed but they are not labled, or the list is incomplete. 5 or more historical facts, that are used to inhance the story, with maybe one or two being stated directly instead. A clear Work Cited Page with all sources cited. More then 5 historical facts that are worked completely into the story without simply stating them. There is a clear and complete Work Cited Page. %30
Historical Fiction Story- Literary Elements Include: creativity, word choice, plot, character development, spelling/ grammar (Group Grade) There is not really a story present simple a collection of ideas. There are major issues with a number of literary elements. Spelling and Grammar are a complete distraction from what has been written. There is a clear story but some of the literary elements are weak, or missing. There are a few spelling and grammar issues that effect the reading of the story. The story is clear and all the literary elements have been used completely. There is a a stong connection to the historical context. There are a few spelling or grammar mistakes but they do not distract the reader. An engaging story that allows the reader to really connect to the story. All literary elements are present and they tie perfectly into the histotical context. Almost no spelling or grammar errors. %30
Teamwork- Students can communicate with each other about their ideas. If a disagreement arises students are able to resolve it on their own. Their overall product shows a clear colaboration. (Group Grade) The team members could not cooperate which is evident in their final product. Disagreements that required teacher monitoring were a frequent issue. Overall the group worked well together. There were a few disagreements that needed teacher mediation but for the most part they were able to solve their own disagreements. Students worked well together, few disagreements, almost never requiring teacher mediation. The final product shows a combination of all group members idea and work. Almost no need for teacher mediation of any kind. The final product shows clear imput of all group members. %20
