This webquest is designed to assist those aspiring sports administrators to learn more about leadership. The intricacies dealing with group dynamics are quite challenging and perplexing.  Having a better understanding of the practical theory of leadership has become the status quo.

Prerequisite skills:  Participants should have had some background in group dynamics as a teacher, coach, athletic director, athlete and/or administrator.  They must also have a desire for knowledge to develop personally, as well as professionally.

Duration of webquest:  In theory, the participants can complete the readings and videos in two to three days.  The completion of the Leadership program and Champions of Character will take three to four days depending on the amount of time spent each day.

Materials: Access to computer, email account, athletic administrators contacts, and a creative mind.

The teacher should encourage students to contribute research outside that which is presented.  I would also recommend students to establish a wikispace, linkedin, or a blog to reach out to other professionals in the field.  Establishing a learning community or network will become very beneficial for future development and growth.

Credits:  I would like to thank Dr. Pete Vander Haeghen for "leading" me into the new millenium of internet resources. By being a student in his courses offered by Loyola Marymount University, I have become a better teacher and leader.

The world wide web is definitely just that.  Once you enter, you will become trapped for hours on end due to the vast amount of information that is available.

I hope that you find the information helpful and beneficial to your development as a Leader in Athletics.
