The Colonial Times period is one of my favorite topics to teach in Social Studies. Every year in the fifth grade the students research a colonial job. They then make a shop sign, colonial doll and write a three paragraph report about their occupation. The children always learn a great deal about the life and hardships of the colonial period. |
