Teachers. This webquest has used photos of, and was initially aimed at the adult students I work with in Oman, in the Middle East. I have attempted to make the webquest as generic as possible so as to allow others to use it with the minimum of changes.
I have allowed 2 weeks preparation for the students before expecting to see the finished product. We developed the evaluation rubric through student-teacher negotiation, using examples from this website as a starting point. Other users may like to add additional criteria, but I preferred to keep it simple.
I think that the webquest will strengthen students' objective awareness of their local area, help instill pride in it, and allow them a framework from which they can safely criticise facilities available in their location.
