Essential Questions: 1. How can the conflict between Israel and Palestine be resolved? 2. Can there be peace between the two? 3. Can there be peace in the Middle East?
Objectives: 1. Students will be able to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate the origins, ramifications, and evolution regarding the Israeli/Palestinian conflict using various Web 2.0 tools to complete teacher generated handout and student created graphic organizer and TLW Chart.
2. In a group, students will be able to develop and create a multimedia presentation on how to resolve the Israeli/Palestinian conflict using various Web 2.0 tools based upon their analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of research they conducted.
This assignment not only addresses historical content but fosters and hones the 21st century skills identified by the Partner for 21st Century Learning. The skills included in this assignment are Information, Media, and Technology, Collaboration and Communication, Critical Thinking, and Creativity. Polish and practice in researching and writing skills are riddled in this assignment also. The format for referencing for this assignment is APA; however, if your school teaches students in MLA, that can easily be changed. The OWL at Purdue also furnishes excellent examples and explanations for MLA formatting as well. The writing skills incorproated into the provided rubrics utilizes components of the Six Traits of Writing. Lastly, the proposal students are to produce is based upon SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely). |
