Tasks Task

You will complete two learning tasks for this WebQuest, using the web resources provided in the Process portion of this WebQuest. Your tasks will take the form of written recommendations and justifications for them, posted to the OLIT538 WebCT Discussion Forum.

You'll also complete a self-assessment using the rubric provided in the Evaluation portion of this WebQuest. Your rubric results will also be posted to the OLIT538 WebCT Discussion Forum. (Read the Process page for more information on the self-assessment.)

In addition, you will be asked to provide feedback about the WebQuest itself, in the Reviews section of this site.

THE TASKS

1. First, you'll advise the Instructional Designer on the top two or three learner characteristics that should be considered when developing the online course. You'll justify your recommendations by citing what you learned from the WebQuest resources you reviewed, that describe the student/learner population.

2. Second, you'll advise the Instructional Designer on the most appropriate types of online learning activities for this student/learner population, and you'll justify your recommendations by referring to your most important learner characteristics as well as information in the WebQuest resources.

In other words, you'll review the WebQuest materials and tell the designer which learner characteristics are absolutely essential to consider in the course design. Then, you'll recommend learning activities for them that take into consideration these essential characteristics.

The next section of this WebQuest, Process, explains how to proceed, and provides annotated links to the WebQuest resources.
