The objective of this webquest is to help you determine the differences between two major campaign finance reforms acts, the FECA and the BCRA. Once you have compared the two reforms, you will be asked to compare and contrast PACs with 527s. How have political campaigns evolved since the FECA? New changes have added to this evolution, including the creation of 527s and a recent Supreme Court decision. Once you have researched the evolution of campaign finance, you will be asked to evaluate how these changes have affected political campaigns, who is actually able to run for office, and the effects of these changes on our representative democracy.
