The students will hold a discussion on what citizenship means, define a good citizens by engaging in certain questions to ask and do a interview of a veteran in the community. There will be time allowed to write a poem, story, play or song about citizenship for their fun time. Reading analyzing and debating newspaper articles on various topics concerning civil life will be a great challenge for the students. Through it all they will need to know how the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights play an important role in citizenship. The related standard is knowing the rights, responsibilities, and role of citizenship. |
