Are you ready? It's time to find a job! First, you will have to think about your skills and talents. Take a walk through the village and meet with different tradesmen. Take time to learn about their jobs and what the different jobs entail. Take detailed notes so you can report back to your relatives. Remember your family that is coming to the New World will need to find work right away.
First you will get into groups of four. Each family group will work in two pairs. With your partner, research the job listed on your jobs wish list. Use the laptop to help you learn about possible colonial jobs. Take great notes to share. Then, be prepared to report back to your family group what you learned about each job on the list. Last you will reflect on the job you did individually and as a team.
Let's take a look at a short video about Colonial Willaimsburg occupations. This video is a secondary source since it shows people reinacting colonial trades. After the video, you will be given your job to research for the project.
