The Counterculture has many faces, identify what they stood for based on the videos and songs posted, then - acting as a member of the Counterculture - write a statement of your beliefs that would convince a member of the mainstream culture that the movement offered a meaningful way of life.
Watch/listen and reference at least two video clips and four songs to create your statement of Counterculture belief. Your summary should be around 1-2 pages.
After making your assessment of what you perceive the Counterculture's ideology to be, be prepared for a class discussion/debate comparing and contrasting the topics you included versus the topics the rest of the class included.
Keep in mind that a lot of the songs use metaphors and symbolism, so you may have to think about what they lyrics are really referring to. If you wish to quote a song other than those that have been posted, it needs teacher approval before you can do so.
