In order to
find the treasure you will need to work in groups of four. Two of the four
students in the group will need to be the mathematicians, and the other two
members will be the clue busters and treasure hunters. The mathematicians will
be given a copy of the two mathematical worksheet which by solving will give them a key to solving the questions on the clue sheet. The clues to the location
of the hidden treasure will be given to the clue buster and treasure hunter to decipher. The
clue sheets have 26 math problems related to adding fractions on it. It looks like each
answer you receive after solving the problems relate to a certain letter in the
alphabet. There are 8 clues given on a clue sheet with a coded message written
underneath each statement. The mathematicians will have to communicate their
answers to the treasure hunter and code buster and they will need to bust the code
and find the treasure in the building according to where the clues tell them to
go.
