Playground Research In teams of 3-4, you will first brainstorm different ideas about what type of playground equipment would be best suited for the number of students at Carrie Lee as well as their ages. A picture of the playground is given to help think of equipment placement. Next, you will each research different equipment using the links that are provided below. You have a budget of $20,000 so be sure that you keep that in mind when looking at different equipment. Also, remember you are searching for equipment that would work the best for EVERYONE. Basketball hoops, jungle gyms, and playsystems are all acceptable to include in your plans. Aside from checking the cost and usability of the equipment, you will also need to check on the safety precautions. As a group you will need to come to a consensus as to what will work the best with the playground space, children, as well as the budget. List the age appropriateness, cost, and safety measures that are included with all equipment. The layout of the playground is also below. As you complete your power point be sure to include the ideal placement for all of the equipment and why that placement is superior. Each student will have to have a part in the school board presentation. When presenting your power point slides you will need to: 1.) Provide a picture of the equipment you wish to purchase. 2.) The cost of the equipment. 3.) At least 3 reasons why that particular piece of equipment should be purchased. Finally, create a map of the playground and include the placement of the equipment. Also, be sure to list the overall cost of the new playground at the end as well. Remember work together and present a clear presentation for the school board. It's your school, it's time to make it your playground as well! |
