Web 2.0 Teaching Tools

1. Find out which Web 2.0 tool you are assigned from your instructor.

2. In your teams, determine your roles:
  • Product Research: The product researcher determines how the online tool is used.  What media is necessary.  Determines ease of use and sharing of finished product.  Provides background on the company.
  • Lesson Research: The lesson researcher will gather facts and media necessary to build a simple, sample project using the online tool.
  • Product Development: The product developer will investigate how to use the online tool to create a project.  The product developer will work with the lesson researcher to put together the project presentation using the technology tool.
  • Presenter: The presenter will work with all departments to prepare for the presentation.  The presenter will create any presentation handouts or materials and will prepare the written presentation and present to the other teams on the effectiveness of the technology tool.
3. Use the ROLES handout below, print and complete for your assigned roles.
4. Use the links below to learn about your assigned Web 2.0 tool.  Learn how to use the tool and to see examples of student work created with the tool.
5.  Develop your final presentation, including a sample project, to share with your fellow educators.  Explain why (or why you do not) recommend this Web 2.0 tool for the classroom that will help students to learn and to be engaged.
