The best part of teaching middle school is the students themselves. These pre-teens are fascinating; they have opinions, know what they like and what they want. They are so ready to share themselves with the world and be part of society. They love music and sports, movie stars and technology, but most of all they want to be part of a world that has dictated what to do and how for so long. Not anymore! This people are activists, knowledgeable about the world and ready to make a change. They are optimists and they are intelligent, and they are the future of our planet. They demand respect, but are eager to learn and understand and are willing to open themselves to the facilitating of instruction by the teachers that will guide their aspirations and hopes. These students look to their teachers to listen and understand and to guide and love, perhaps making middle school teachers the most important people in their lives. |
