Before the class start the teacher must make sure that she has the lesson plan and the appropriate material to complete this assignment. The class will start by introducing the lesson for the week to the students and discuse what they should know once the lesson is complete. The teacher starts by asking the students what is citizenship and record the differnt answers the students give. Then reply to the students by telling them the teacher scholastic stated  "it's when a citizen is a participatory member of a political community"(2008) and discuse how it relates to what they said. This should be displayed for future references in the classroom. Day two should consist of finding good citizens and this can be done by asking the students how have they been good citizens in certain situations or they can share personal stories about when they exhibited citizenship. On Day three lets go beyond the classroom by instructing the students to interview a veteran in their community and ask questions such as what does being a U.S. citizen mean to you or what down fall have you had in life? By day four the students should have the concept of citizenship so now they can create a song, poem or story about what they have learned about citizenship. On the last day of the lesson lets get some in depth information on how the Declaration of Independence, U.S. constitution and the Bill of Rights play an important part in citizenship. All of this imformation can be displayed in the classroom as a piece of history.
