You were given a worksheet in class to help you with this
process, if you didn’t receive one, then use the worksheet link below. The
worksheet is to help you plan your project.
Using the links in the resource section, learn about everyday
applications for mathematics. List
at least three that interest you on your worksheet. Then select one to research
and explain in detail. You can write your detailed explanation on the worksheet.
After you have completed your research begin your presentation.
You should have a minimum of 4 slides (but not more than 8) by this point. Be
sure to work on content first rather than special effects.
The next step is to do the same process for careers and
technology. Use the links below to
learn about applications of math in careers and technology. List at least three that interest you
on your worksheet. Then select one
to research and explain in detail.
You can use your worksheet to write down your detailed explanation as
well.
After completing your research add your information in your
presentation file. When you have
finished you should have at least 8 slides (but no more than 16). Don’t forget to include a title slide
with your name, the date and the period. You will also include a resources
slide where you will tell which resources you used to find the information you
included in your presentation. Do
not simply list all of the provided links, only list the ones that you actually
used to create your presentation.
If you use the exact information you should place the writing in
quotation marks and appropriately cite your source.
Don’t forget to practice your presentation so that your
presentation will be your best work. Don’t just read the slides; deliver your
presentation.
