Procedures
Day One: We will watch
the video How the West was Lost – Seminole – The Unconquered. This will take up
most of our class time, leaving just enough time to reflect on the information presented
in the video to fill out the KWL Chart. Let me know first thing tomorrow what
you will need for your map, timeline, or art project that must be
representative of the Seminole Indian Tribe.
Day Two: Everyone has been provided with the standard that they will research on the Seminole Indian
Tribe. Each team member will research information on the topic that will be
included on their own PowerPoint page. Begin by referring to the resources
provided on my WebQuest presentation, everyone has access to the site. There is
a lot of information to go through, time is of the essence. You can take notes
in your Social Studies notebook as you read or watch videos.
Day Three: Today you will write
the necessary information in your Social Studies notebook. Once you have
completed the writing, start on your PowerPoint. Work with your team members
and ensure that your pages match, yet show individuality. Be creative with your
designs so that it will enhance your presentation. Do not forget to submit all
of your citations to me by the end of the day tomorrow; I will be creating the
Reference Page for the class.
Day Four: If you have not finished your PowerPoint, make sure to finish it up quickly. Today you will be
creating your choice of a map, timeline, or art that is representative of the
Seminole Indian Tribe. All of the material you have requested is on the back
table. Make sure to turn in our citation page today.
Day Five: Today we will
be presenting our PowerPoint. If you have not finished your map, timeline, or
art, sit at the back table and finish quietly as your classmates present their
PowerPoint. You will have to participate during this process to receive full credit.
A rubric is included in my WebQuest presentation. Please take a look at it to ensure that you accomplish all of the work required.
Good luck and have fun with the project - BE CREATIVE!
