  1. Using a jar of M&M's, count and list each color of M&M.
  2. Tabulate the results and compute the total number of M&Ms(this represents the population).
  3. Using the results, calculate the percentage of each color of M&M inside the jar.
  4. You are to carefully select a random sample that is representative of the population of M&Ms using various sampling methods such as stratified sampling, cluster sampling, or systematic which this exercise assumes have been discussed in prior lessons.
  5. Out of the sample you have selected, compute the percentage of each color of M&M(the sample)
  6. Compare your results to the population of M&Ms in #3 above.
  7. The sampling error is the difference between your results(sample) and the population(census).
  8. Compute the sampling error in each scenario by taking the difference between your sample and that of the actual population of M&Ms.
  9. Repeat this exercise using the different sampling methods and compare your results.
