After the introduction, I will
play the video. So, students are supposed to listen carefully to it in order to
be able to tell me what they hear. When the video finishes, I will asks
students a few questions:
1) What do really British eat?
2) Who does bring the milk? When? 3) What is their usual breakfast?
4) Is it a traditional breakfast?
Students are expected to answer
all questions. I will correct them if it is necessary. When the students finish
answering the questions, I will tell them to open their books, page 42. Then,
the students will do the first exercise. Their task is to match the description
and the pictures. I will help them if it is necessary. After that, I am going
to read a text about meals in Britain.
When I finish reading, I am going to ask students which words they do not
understand. I am going to write unknown words on the board. Students will copy
them in their school dictionaries. After the words are copied, students will
repeat the words. Then, the students are going to read the text. They are
expected to collaborate at the full extent. When students finish reading, they
will try to translate the text into their mother tongue. They are also supposed
to do this because the language is so clear and everything can be understood so
easily. After translating, I am going to
tell students to do the second exercise. Their task will be to answer the
questions about the text. Students will work in pairs. While they are working,
I will be going around and helping them if it is necessary. Students are
expected to answer the questions at 95% of accuracy. When they finish answering
the questions, the students are going to read them. If there is any mistake,
other students will try to correct them. Then, I will give them the
leaflets. I will divide them into five groups. There will be a conversation
from the above mentioned video clip and some words from the text will be
missing. Students’ task will be to try to fill the gaps with the appropriate
(missing) word from the clip. Then, I will play the clip. Students are going to
listen carefully and they are going to write the missing words. They are
supposed to recognize each word. If it is necessary, I will play the video clip
twice. Then, students are going to read the final version of the conversation.
Students are also going to correct each other if there are any mistakes.
