The teacher will give the definition and examples of types of bullying that are common in high school. Next they will ask questions about a bully free environment. You will complete a t-chart on what a bully free environment looks like and feels like. You will then make a list of ways to keep your school a bully free environment and participate with classmates in open discussion.

Following the teacher’s instruction and class discussion here is the following project:

  • You will be assigned to a group of three students.
  • Your group will design and produce a 2 or 3 fold brochure on “Bully Prevention”.
  • Each group will collabrate and chose an editor/journalist, cartoonist/graphic artist, and market director.   You will each have a role on the assigned project.
  • The editor/journalist will be responsible for leading the group to produce an information brochure for students about “Bully Prevention”.
  • The  cartoonist/graphic artist will be responsible for leading the group in designing creative layout and artwork of the brochure, printing 2 copies of the final brochure (1 for teacher and 1 for administration).
  • The market director will be responsible for leading the group in producing a media presentation to school administration concerning the brochure and its distribution (presentation times will be scheduled and announced).
  • See word document for guidelines of brochure.
  • There will be 2 days of class time to work in groups to complete assignment.
