Process for Eligibility on Awards & Sponsors

Sponsors make it possible to offer this "Virtual Pizz-A-Thon" program free to educators. 
"Virtual Pizz-A-Thon, with lesson plans and student centered learning activities."

On the Photo/Sponsor page, see a photo of the T shirts and medallions awarded to winning teams (who are supported by approved sponsors). With enough sponsor support, T shirts are provided to all participants. On the back of the T shirts are the sponsors names (providing for walking bill boards for the sponsors). The "Virtual Pizz-A-Thon" Blog is a companion component of this web site. 

Ordering Awards: The awards to schools, clubs and troops who have local sponsors are free and usually presented at a judging awards ceremony. Those who order with (no local sponsors) cost per set is: 6 T shirts, 6 medallions, 6 ribbons, and a plexiglass plant/root observation box cost is $200 (includes shipping). Send cashiers check for $200 (per set) made out to Virtual Pizz-A-Thon % Eldon Weber, 4001 Fletcher Blvd., Ames, IA.

Present Sponsors: MAJOR SPONSOR, Happy Joes and Silver Sponsor, Rock Island Co. Farm Bureau support teams, awards and stipends in the Quad Cities. Scott County Farm Bureau was a past Silver Sponsor in the Quad Cities. Linn County Farm Bureau supports two winning teams in Linn County (Cedar Rapids/Marion competition). New 2013 Sponsors: Linn County Corn and Soybean Association Linn County Soil and Water Conservation District and Linn County Cattleman's Association.

To date in the Cedar Rapids area this spring, 16 teams (nearly 100 Echo Hill 4th graders) competed in the baking and marketing contest. Pictures of the current and past winning teams and their pizza recipes are on the Recipe "Prize Pizza" page on the blog (hot link to web site in Resource below).
