Introduction Introduction

In May 2010, Genting Singapore, the unit operating Resorts World Sentosa, reported its first quarter 2010 results, posting revenues of S$334.9 million (Inside Asian Gaming, 2010) since its opening in mid February 2010. On average, daily revenues for the period were S$7.3 million. Visitor arrivals to Singapore have also risen to 16.2% year-on-year to 1 055 000 in January 2011, the highest ever recorded for the month (RTT News, 2011).

It is apparent that the newly built integrated resorts have boosted the Singapore economy as revenues and tourist arrivals continue to surge. In this WebQuest, you and your teammates will be tasked to build another amusement park in Resorts World Sentosa, using the concepts of scales, maps and bearings. You also have to source for suitable bank loans to fund your project. Since there will be game stalls in your theme park, you must ensure that these stalls operate in a profitable manner.

As you execute your project, always make sure that you follow the given guidelines and work around the limitations. Good luck!
