In this WebQuest you will you will learn the hardships and how the potitical events and issues that divided our nation that led us to the Civil War.  You will discover the failures of the abolitionist movements, the conflicting views on states' rights and federal authority. The emergence of the Republican Party and its victory win in 1860 and the formation of the Confederate States of America.  How did the Civil War started? What were the main diffrences that the North and South fought in the Civil War. What was life like for a Solider?  What were the factors that lead to the seccessions of states? What are the effects of sectionalism fueled by issues of slavery?  First we will take a tour of the days and life of the Civil War.
