St Josephs needs your help.
In Post Celtic Tiger Ireland, we tend to take a lot of our luxuries for granted. We like our fancy clothes, the latest in technology and the biggest and best T.V's. But what of our necessities such as food and water on the table, electricity in our homes and petrol in our cars. All of these necessities and luxuries are possible because of a ready suppy of energy that has been available to us in the past.
But what if it was'nt. Without the energy needed to create electricity, we would have no heat, no pumps to pump the water and our factories would no longer be able to process our food. Oh and there would be no more Play Stations or I-Pods. In a nutshell, without energy, society as we have come to know it, WILL CEASE TO EXIST.
Won't happen, can't happen, you say. Well it can and it will. That is unless we take action now. One of the facts of life that we are not told about is that oil and other fosil fuels are running out. Some experts believe we have now passed the critical point, which is, we are now depleting our fosil fuels quicker than we can find and produce them.
You and your classmates work for a company called Energy Transitions Eire Inc. With the help of Energy Experts like you,our school is going to prove we can exist in comfort without the use of fossil fuels. The chairwoman has written to your company with aview to contracting your services. The board wants Energy Transitions Eire Inc to perform a feasability study and provide a proposal with a view to demonstrating to our school's partner that this proposed "Green School" is Feasible.
