40 percent of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade girls want to be thinner.
80 percent of 10 year old children are worried that they will become fat.
70 percent of 6th grade girls said their worry about shape and size began when they were 9-11 years old.
In a study of children aged 8-10 years old, approximately 50 percent of girls said they are unhappy with their size.
